On social networks, a compassion -based sales scheme is spreading. An elderly person is shown at work, it is said that he is creating an object with great effort and then the link is left to buy it. Often they are small objects, such as ornaments or accessories. Even more often there is nothing true. We are in front of a drop ship scheme.
Videos are always made in the same way. First there is a person’s shot, often a girl, who cries in front of the room. There is an inscription on the screen, sometimes a voice: “Nobody wants to buy what your father does, tell him to stop”. Then an elderly at work is framed and in the end the product to be appeared is shown. They are not real stories: it is simply one marketing strategyperhaps of scam.
Social social media are filling with this scheme. They work a lot on Tiktok but they are also found on Facebook and Instagram. Who manages these accounts pretends to tell a story. It is usually that of a relative who is creating small objects to sell them to the public. Very often he is an elderly parent. The objects are simple products, inexpensive. Often accessories or ornaments.
In the videos it is always said that things go badly, the object is not coming and for this Who is creating it is sad. Tears, disappointment scenes or negative comments are often shown. At the end of the video all the references are left for Buy the same object from an online store. All beautiful. The videos reach millions of views. But there is a problem.
Musazzi, the anti-influencer: “My job is to make fun of. I know what my latest video will be”
The case of the spheres of Inside Out
A case that explains this scheme well concerns the “Luminous spheres of Inside Out”. It is a small ornament with seven grooves where to place as many spheres. They are all transparent, they could be glass or plastic, with colored shades. The hollow is a wooden rectangle with lights that illuminate the spheres when they are placed.
There is no reference on the product to Inside Out and of course it is not part of Disney’s official merchandise. Yet they are sold with a precise reference to the film, given that the colors can connect to protagonists of the Disney film. The Italian account Lumena Solis He is publishing dozens of videos on these spheres. Clips that arrive quietly also to 500,000 views with dozens of comments.

There is the father’s clip. Start with the photo of a girl who cries and says: “Nobody wants to buy the spheres of Inside Out who does your father, tell him to quit”. Then a window at work and in the end The product is shown. But not only that, on the same account there are other sales patterns. There is a video in which it is said “Run from Lidl for the new Inside Out 2 lamps”. Or again: “Yesterday my girlfriend left me so I opened the gift he had given me”.
The Inside Out 2 lamp is sold on an online store connected to the profile for 54.95 euros. The same article, however, can be found on Amazon, 59.59 euros. But above all we also recovered it on Aliexpress for 9.59 euros. Probably the actual value. But the same sales scheme is also found with other objects such as Harry Potter AirPods holder or one piece lamps. Often the protagonists of the videos change. Likely they are alone clips stolen from other profiles on social media.

The dropshipping scheme
The products are not really created by desperate fathers. At least in the cases that we have analyzed by the reports received on Tiktok. It is true. The products are actually on sale on an online store but just analyze the type of product well to understand that you can easily find from much bigger retailers. The product that should be “created by my father” in the end is Product in China and sold on Aliexpress, Temu or Amazon in half of the price. Technically this is called Drop Ship, a sales scheme in which the intermediary sells a product to the end user without having it in the warehouse but simply acting as a link between a larger store and a customer.
