Marques Brownlee31 years old, is one of the most important creators in the world who deal with technology. Especially if we talk about devices. Our Andrea Galeazzi if he had been born in the United States. A few hours ago he published a post on Instagram in which he announced a small turning point for the social networks. A breakthrough that starts from another platform: YouTube.
Brownlee was chosen by Meta along with others 13 people to form the jury that the October 16th will award the first Instagram Rings. These are the first awards dedicated to creators launched by the platform. A way to create interest around the platform and those who produce content within it: they are the Oscar of the Algorithm. They are also on the jury Adam Mosserihead of the platform, Spike Lee, Kaws and the chef Cedric Grolet.
The winners will have as a prize two gold rings. A real one, created by Grace Wales Bonner. And a digital one. A ring of golden pixels that will appear next to their profile picture when they publish a new story. Users will also be able to customize the color of their profile and place the like button under their contents.

The history of rewards for creators: the YouTube case
The illustrious precedent in the field of creator recognition is YouTube. The platform awards a series of prizes which are given following a very simple criterion: channel subscribers. For the first ones 100,000 there is the Silver Button. When you get to the million you get the Golden Button.
And again. At 10 millions there is the Diamond Creator Awardwith the YouTube logo becoming diamond-like. To the 100 million subscribers there is the Red Diamond Creator Award. A black YouTube logo with a red play button in the center. Currently obtained only from 14 channels.
Then the official awards end, also because the channels that have exceeded this threshold are very few. For every 100 million new members there are different prizes, all the same Diamond Creator Award but with different colors. For the 400 million members, the diamond is transparent and the logo in the center is blue. The only one to have obtained it at the moment is James Donaldson known as MrBeast.
