Samsung has just confirmed the official date of the new Galaxy Unpacked event which will debut the new models of the Galaxy Z series. Among these there will also be the Galaxy Z Flip 8 which, according to a new leak, could be the last in the series. The Korean company may only focus on Fold models for the future of the Galaxy Z afloat, due to the higher profit margins.
Samsung will focus on Folds
Unless there is an (unlikely) commercial success, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will be the last model in the Flip series. Samsung, following what has also been done by various Chinese brands, will focus on the Fold series. Currently, in fact, among the main OEMs, only Motorola (in addition to Samsung) continues to focus on flip phones. Of course, nothing is official and Samsung could always change its mind.
There market response to the new Galaxy Z Flip 8 will probably be decisive. With the increase in prices due to the memory crisis, the Korean company must evaluate very carefully which projects to focus on.
For the moment, the Flip series is the most at risk, while the Fold will continue to represent a central element of the Samsung smartphone range. More details will arrive in the coming weeks.
We remind you that the Unpacked event, which will lead to the debut of the new Galaxy Z, is set for July 22nd with the new products that will debut on the market during the first days of August, at least according to some rumors that have anticipated what will be the launch times of the models.
