Apple has opened downloads for iOS 27 Beta, the new version of the iPhone operating system. The software has several advances compared to the past, although at the moment an important function will not be available in Europe: Siri AI, Apple’s voice assistant developed together with Google.
Apple has released the Beta of its new operating systems. It’s a obligatory passageas we have learned in recent years. At the beginning of June there was the WWDCan acronym that stands for World Wide Developers Conference. It is the event dedicated to Apple software. New devices are not announced (usually) but are shown all operating systems which will be distributed on the market. WWDC 2025 was quite memorable in Cupertino fandom. The company not only launched a new design based on Liquid Glass but also changed its nomenclature, passing from iOS 18 to iOS 26. A break designed to adapt the name of the operating system to the year in which it actually enters service. There WWDC 2026 it was more in line with tradition. The new operating system for iPhone is called iOS 27then the nomenclature simply follows the new course. And so with the others: iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate And watchOS 27.
The design has some adjustments but basically holds up in the Liquid Glass line. This time the most interesting things concern artificial intelligence and specifically the collaboration between Apple and Google to integrate Gemini models into Siri, transforming the entire structure of the voice assistant. A clear change, as we are reading from the first reviews. Raymond Wongjournalist from Gizmodopublished a review with a fairly clear title: “Apple F*cking Did It: One Month With Siri AI”.
Unfortunately we have to cite reviews from other publications because the new Siri AI will not be available in Europe. The company announced this on its blog the same day it launched its operating systems: “Due to the Digital Markets Act (DMA), Apple will not be able to make Siri AI available in the European Union.” They are there though more features in the new update: First of all iOS 27 should be faster. Apple has talked about a more fluid software design that allows apps to open faster, up to 30% more than the iOS 26 operating system. How to download iOS 27: compatible iPhones
We remember it. The Beta version is not a final version: There may be bugs, errors or things to fix. If you want to download it we advise you to do so first backup of your device. To get the Beta version of iOS 27 you need to sign up toApple Beta Software Program. No big deal, it’s free. Create your account and then find the available update in Settings. Just search for the entry Software Update in the General section. iOS 27 is available for all models starting from iPhone 11 and iPhone SE (2nd generation) forward, even if more advanced Apple Intelligence features require iPhone 15 Pro or later.
