Over the last few years, the floor cleaning robot market has seen a continuous evolution in the technical characteristics of the various models, with the aim of making their operation increasingly precise and ensuring the most efficient cleaning of home floors.
From this, increasingly precise navigation systems have been developed, combined with compact dimensions to also reach the areas under the furniture, with the integration of brushes and washing rollers that can be extended to ensure the cleaning of the wall profiles and furniture as well. It is precisely in this area that Dreame wanted to implement important innovations with X60 Pro Ultra Completethe top of the range robot vacuum cleaner subjected to this test.

X60 Pro Ultra Complete implements indeed two lateral armsrespectively for brush and washing roller, which extend well above average beyond the size of the robot itself. In this way they can reach the most difficult areas, such as the corners of walls and the legs of tables and chairs, removing dust and dirt and getting ever closer to 100% cleaning of the surface of the house.

The Omnisight 3.0 AI navigation system it is based on two front cameras with 120 degrees of viewing angle, which use artificial intelligence logic they are able to recognize up to 320 different types of objects that the robot may encounter on the floor of the house. They are able to identify objects starting from 1cm in width, using the proactive light detection to identify hidden dust and stains to clean the floor even more effectively.
The lateral positioning sensor allows you to best position the robot along the edges of the rooms: in this way cleaning is carried out as close as possible to the walls and furniture, making the most of the brush and mop that extend laterally.
At the top of the chassis there is an integrated LiDar sensor, which falls within the structure in the moment in which its encumbrance should hinder the passage. In this way, the overall thickness of the robot decreases to 89mm, allowing for better cleaning even under furniture and furnishings that have adequate ground clearance.

The side brush of Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete features a two-level extension mechanismwhich leads it to operate up to one maximum distance of 12cm relative to the robot body. In this way the brush can intervene in difficult to access areas of our home, offering the best especially near the skirtings of the walls, in the corners or near the furniture. A small brush is also supplied which allows you to clean the skirting board as best as possible, removing dust: it is attached to the extendable brush.
An easily experimentable example is in flush cleaning of furniture that have a recess in the lower part near the floor; in this case the arm extends to remove any dust that may also be present in this area, which is typically not completely treated by traditional robots even with an extendable arm.

The lower brush, indicated with the name of HyperStream DuoBrush 2.0is directly connected to the suction motor, which achieves a maximum power of 42,000Pa. It uses a double brush structure with opposing directions of rotation: both are tapered towards one of the ends so as to better convey the hair towards the collection tank integrated into the robot. The structure is weighted both to ensure adequate removal of dirt from the floor and to minimize the risk of hair becoming tangled, compromising its functionality.

The external mop it is equipped with extendable mechanics, which can be pushed through a double joint up to 18cm compared to the robot chassis. In this way, like what was seen with the side brush, it is possible to clean the floor even in areas that would be difficult to access.
The mops exert a pressure of 15N on the floorfor a more effective cleaning action, being able to tilt up to 12° what maximum in the presence of uneven floors e rotating 280 times per minute.
Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete integrates a mechanism that allows you to overcome any steps in the houseuntil an overall height of 10cm when it involves two sequential steps of 5cm each and up to 5.2cm in the presence of a single step. The robot can then be raised completely, up to 21.5mm, when it has to pass over high pile carpets so as to prevent these from coming into contact with the lower part.

The charging base governs all maintenance and preparation operations of the robot before and during its cleaning activities. It integrates the two traditional tanks for light and dark water in the upper part, flanked by the small tank for the detergent liquid added to the water to clean the floors and wash the mops.
The dust collection bag is hidden by a front door: it is able to collect the dust accumulated in 100 days of cleaning a medium-sized apartment. The mops are washed with hot waterat a temperature that can be configured manually from the Dreame APP or left to be selected automatically by the base itself depending on the perceived level of dirt. At the end of the cleaning operation, after the last wash, the mops are dried with a jet of hot air so as to restore their full functionality.
When a vacuum-only operation is performed, the two mops are left inside the charging basereleasing them from the robot so that they do not hinder floor cleaning operations.
Battery charging is performed using PowerMaster technologythanks to which 24% of the charge is restored in just under 6 minutes, thus allowing the cleaning action to continue without long pauses even in the presence of large surface areas.

There Dreame APP it is the control center for all the functions of the robot and the charging base. It offers very high configuration flexibility, with the possibility of customizing cleaning interventions with specific methods for each different home environment.

The advanced options are decidedly variedincluding specific functions that identify the way in which the robot moves along the floors of the house or the charging base intervenes.

Creating the initial home map takes place in just a few minutes: once this operation has been completed it will be possible to specifically identify each room in the house, combining it with specific vacuuming and washing actions if we want. This level of customization also affects carpets, on which Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete can intervene differently based on the characteristics, pile height and material.
Put to work on the surface of the home, Dreame Movement along the surface of the rooms of the house occurs smoothlytaking into account both the presence of carpets and the shape of the room as well as the furnishings present.
The obstacle detection system works effectivelypreventing the robot from being hindered during its floor cleaning and dust extraction action. The presence of a front LED light it is another useful accessory element: it turns on when the ambient lighting is insufficient, so as to facilitate not so much navigation but the correct recognition of any obstacles.
The mop washing operation is enriched by the extendable armwhich allows you to operate better in areas that are typically not treated well. This is the strong point of the design of Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete and which differentiates this robot from rivals in the same category. At the moment, an approach of this type can only be done using a rotating mop washing system and not one with an integrated roller: it is conceivable that an extension mechanism could one day arrive for this type of cleaning system too, which allows you to better treat even the most hidden corners, actually sliding flush with the walls and furnishings of the house.

Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete is a complete home floor cleaning systemwhich differs from other competing solutions on the market due to the presence of two arms that extend well beyond the standard. It is not difficult to imagine that this type of solution will soon be adopted by all manufacturers of floor cleaning robots for their top-of-the-range solutions.
Floor washing is carried out with a pair of opposing mops rather than with an integrated roller: the latter, moreover, by its construction does not allow operating on an arm that extends so far beyond the basic structure of the robot. Or at least this type of design has not yet been presented by any manufacturer.
The list price is €1,499follows the technical characteristics of this robot vacuum cleaner which offers the uniqueness of the arms which extend considerably in combination with everything that can currently be expected from a solution of this type. A demanding price, which will certainly be the subject of commercial initiatives over the next few months, but which allows you to have one of the most complete cleaning solutions on the market at home.
