Nothing officially presented Nothing OS 5.0the new version of its interface based on Android 17. The update introduces important changes to the software experience, with changes to the graphic aspect, performance improvements and deeper integration of functions related to artificial intelligence. The distribution of the beta and stable versions will follow a progressive calendar.
The Open Beta program starts on August 26th for Nothing Phone (3)while it will subsequently be extended to other compatible models. The definitive version will instead begin to be distributed from mid-October, once again from the Phone (3). Nothing plans to complete the update of affected smartphones by January 2027, although the timing may change slightly based on the market.
The Phone (3) will receive the beta on August 26 and the stable version a mid-October. Phone (4a) Pro will follow with the beta at the beginning of September and final release at the beginning of November. Phone (4th), Phone (3a) Pro And Phone (3rd) they are instead expected in beta at end of September and with version stable in November. For Phone (2nd) And Phone (2nd) Plus the beta is coming to mid-Octoberwhile the final version is expected in mid November.
Nothing OS 5.0: timing and news
The other devices will follow a later timing. Phone (3rd) Litigation will not participate in the betabut will receive Nothing OS 5.0 at end of December. Phone (4b) will have beta a mid-December and the stable version a mid-JanuaryWhile CMF Phone 2 Proalso excluded from the beta program, will directly receive the stable update a mid-January. Phone (1), Phone (2) And CMF Phone 1 however, they are not compatible with Nothing OS 5.0.
Nothing specifies that the distribution will take place in stages, so some countries may receive the update before others. Under normal conditions, however, the additional wait should be limited to a few days. The company therefore chose a gradual path to bring Android 17 and the latest Nothing OS 5.0 features to the entire supported range.
To participate in the beta, when available for your model, you must first update your phone to the latest software version. Next you need to install the Nothing Beta Hub V2.0 APK, open Settings > System > Nothing Beta Hub, select Check Version and then Join Beta.
