Google may be working on one new device dedicated to fitness based on Wear OS. A new hardware product has in fact appeared in the documents of the FCC, the US body that deals with the certification of electronic devices, and several elements seem to indicate that it may be a product developed directly by the Mountain View giant.
The device is officially referred to as “Wireless Device” and is produced by Goerteka company already known for having created several generations of Pixel Buds. The model name, G8BL6also seems to follow the scheme usually used by Google to identify its hardware products, strengthening the hypothesis of a device belonging to the company’s ecosystem.
Another interesting detail concerns the presence of a display. The electronic label of the device can be reached through the path Settings > System > Regulatory informationexactly as happens on the current Pixel Watches. This element therefore suggests the possible presence of Wear OShypothesis further supported by the use of the Android Debug Bridge, or ADB, during the testing procedures.

As far as connectivity is concerned, the device supports Bluetooth LE and GNSStherefore the technologies also dedicated to satellite and GPS localization. The Bluetooth antenna is also described as integrated into the metal structure of the product. At the moment, however, There is no Wi-Fi supportan absence that leaves some questions open about the actual characteristics of the device.
Considering all available information, the G8BL6 it could be a Google fitness tracker based on Wear OS. This would be a new format for the company’s operating system, different from traditional smartwatches, and this leads to also question the energy efficiency of the platform in a more compact device and potentially oriented towards greater autonomy.
The certification also comes after the sighting of a mysterious Google tracker in an advertisement dedicated to the Pixel 11. The device featured a vertical pill-shaped display and a strap similar to that of the Pixel Watch, as well as a watch face with Wear OS complications dedicated to fitness. After the Fitbit Air, this new product could therefore represent the successor to the Fitbit Charge line, last updated in 2023.
