The United States announced for the first time that there are weapons deployed in space. It is not clear what type of weapons these are. According to some hypotheses, they are devices capable of hindering the work of enemy satellites.
The news comes from an official source. Troy Meink since May 2025 he has been the secretary ofUnited States Air Force. During the Conference on Air and Space Security organized in Maryland he issued a statement that opened a new chapter on defense. In short, Meink confirmed that the United States has “space-control weapons in orbit capable of defending our forces from hostile actions.” The weapons are not being tested, they have already been deployed. It is the first time such news has been released. Of course, the United States, and especially Donald Trump, have been working for years for military control in space. In December 2019 during his first term, Donald Trump established the Space Force, a new branch of the United States military. Not only that. Just in September, the design of the uniforms dedicated to the Space Force was revealed, perhaps a little too similar to those of the Space Force troops.Empire in Star Wars.
The consequences of Meink’s words are yet to be understood. There are few states that can count on consistent access to space. In addition to the United States, China and Russia remain. The point, however, is yet another. At the moment it is not known what weapons the United States has deployed in space. The choice is not random. We only know that it is based in space, so it is not a land-based missile capable of hitting a satellite in orbit.”

What are the weapons the United States is talking about
