Samsung he’s working on one new feature dedicated to its Galaxy Budsthe range of true wireless headphones, recently updated with Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. The next novelty concerns the ability of earphones to support people with hearing problems.
The Galaxy Buds become an acoustic support
In fact, with an official press release, the company confirmed that it had received theUS Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for introducing the function of acoustic support for its earphones which can be used by adult users for “address mild to moderate hearing loss, which may manifest as difficulty following conversations in noisy environments, without the need for a prescription or clinic visit.”
Users will be able to use a hearing test using a special feature of the Galaxy Buds, registered as Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) and capable of providing medical-grade results.
The new function will be usable exclusively on Galaxy Buds 3 Pro And Galaxy Buds 4 Prostarting from fourth quarter of 2026. Samsung notes that availability is expected in the United States and in some markets where the feature will receive approval from local authorities. At the moment, the arrival in Italy is not confirmed.
As confirmed by Samsung, the hearing aid function amplifies sounds that users struggle to hearsuch as high frequencies, surrounding whispers and distant voices. Also supported arenoise elimination and the beamformingelements that help focus the sound and suppress background noise.
