Samsung is defining the characteristics techniques of new Galaxy S27 and S27+. The two smartphones will be positioned in a lower range compared to the top of the range, S27 Ultra and the absolutely new S27 Pro. According to a new report, however, the Korean company is preparing to update (finally) the photographic section of the two models, with a new telephoto lens.
An updated photographic section
The latest information leaked online confirms Samsung’s desire to replace the 10 MP telephoto lens used by the S26 and S26+ for the photographic sector of the new S27 and S27+.
Currently, in fact, the company is reportedly testing the use of a 12MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. This is the same sensor that Samsung should also use on the Galaxy S27 Pro.
On paper, the sensor in question could guarantee a substantial upgrade compared to the 10 MP of the S26 and S26+, confirming the company’s desire to offer an improvement for its new smartphones.
Furthermore, as has already emerged in recent weeks, S27 and S27+ could also see the arrival of a new 50 MP sensor which will occupy the main camera role (this is a Sony sensor)
Returning to the telephoto lensInstead, S27 Ultra should adopt a new sensor from 50 MP with 4x zoom which will replace the sensors used by the current S26 Ultra, with the transition to a three rear camera configuration. A final decision has not yet been made, with the Korean company reportedly testing five different prototypes of its future top of the range.
