“I forgot to send the message”: WhatsApp puts an end to the excuse most used by users

By reporting incomplete messages directly in the chat list, users will no longer have to open WhatsApp conversations to check if messages have been sent. In fact, they will be identified with a new “Draft” label directly visible on the chat list.

You write the message, you get distracted and you accidentally close the chat, without sending it. It’s happened to everyone but the new one draft function of WhatsApp could put an end to suspended messages. As anticipated by WABetaInfo, a site specializing in messaging app updates, every time we write a message without pressing send, a new “Draft” label will appear which will allow users to immediately find incomplete texts.

This addition is intended to help users manage interrupted conversations more effectively, minimizing the chances that messages are not sent. “With the Draft label now visible next to the chat list, users no longer have to manually check each chat for incomplete text, a process that often led to overlooked messages,” explains WAbetaInfo. It will then become easier keep track of incomplete conversations.

How drafts work on WhatsApp

By reporting incomplete messages directly in your chats list users will no longer have to open conversations for check if messages have been sent. They will be identified with a new label “Draft” directly visible on the chat list. “This feature allows you to view the text of any incomplete message directly in the chat list, as it is marked with the label, so users can see what they were typing without opening the conversation“, explains WaBetaInfo.

On WhatsApp you will no longer see if someone is “writing” a message: what appears in its place

“For users who are often interrupted or distracted while writing, this feature acts as a reminder, reducing the possibility of leave messages unsent. Unlike before, where users had to remember or manually check each chat, the new label “Bozza” now makes it clearer at a glance which conversations have unfinished messages. This addition helps users stay organized and ensures that important, unsent messages are kept less likely to be forgotten.”

Meta is also working on an address book within the app, so it will be easier “to add and privately manage your contacts on WhatsApp, whatever device you use,” he explained in a blog post.

If you lose your phone, for example, it will be possible restore the address book with one click, if instead “you have multiple accounts on the same phone, one personal and one work, you can customize the contact list for each of them.” Each user will be able to choose whether to save only on WhatsApp or if synchronize the contact with your phone.

Not only that, with the latest update of Whatsapp on iOS they have been made available 22 different themes and 20 colors to personalize chats. The new Chat Theme page will expand your customization options. The applied theme will be visible only on the user’s device.
