The new synth developed by Telepathic Instruments is called The Orchid, it has a matrix of eight chord selection and editing keys and a single octave keyboard. It will be available starting December 18th.

The Orchid is an “advanced hardware synthesizer for chord generation”, it has an array of eight selection keys and chord modification, and one single octave keyboard to allow users to choose a root note and activate the chord. The synth also has a built-in dual speaker, a Midi out port, a rechargeable battery and voicing options.
“The Orchid helps you express what you feel or find the idea you were looking for“, explained Parker. “I often feel that a song has a destiny of its own, a cosmic path over which you have no control.” The Orchid is aimed at both experienced musicians and casual experimenters.

The Orchid was developed by Telepathic Instruments. The design is essential and retro futuristic was created by Ignacio Germade. The synth also includes a polyphonic synthesis engine 16 voices with integrated ambiencemodulation effects, a separate bass synthesis engine exclusively for low frequencies, dual built-in stereo speakers, a sensitive keyboard and a rechargeable battery,” reads the description. You can also apply built-in effects such as delay, reverb and loop. It has three built-in synthesizers: a polyphonic virtual analog subtractive synthesizer, an FM synthesizer for modulations, and a “vintage piano” emulation.
How much The Orchid costs and when will it be possible to buy it
Orchid will be available for purchase starting December 18th. It will cost $549. Initially only 1,000 synths will be available. “Before the tool’s widespread distribution, owners will have the ability to shape it and perfect it as part of the Garden, an online community in partnership with Patreon. Further details will be announced shortly”, we read on the Telepathic Instruments website. The first buyers will therefore have the opportunity to make changes before the official launch on the market.
