Me Contro Te's arguments on social media make us miss children's TV: what's happening

Me Contro Te started what we can define as a diss track. They attacked another pair of creators, DinsiemE, accusing them of copying content. An exchange of videos and barbs began between everyone: it seems that Fedez and Tony Effe got lost in the Fantabosco.

In the comments they call it dissing, technically it’s just an argument. Me Contro Te, born Luigi Calagna and Sofia Scalia, have become a giant in children’s entertainment on social media. They have 7 million subscribers on their YouTube channel, they have made six films and are ready to launch the seventh and above all they have launched an almost incalculable number of branded products. Sales: Only the main company has registered 3,800,211 euros in the 2023 budget. Now they have opened a new chapter.

Short disclaimer. There is a segment of the population that understandably he doesn’t know Me Con Te. They are those who are not in contact with children or who were too old when Luigi Calagna and Sofia Scalia exploded on YouTube. We facilitate explanation for everyone: Me Against You they deal with light content for children.

Videos of daily life, exaggerated reactions, many challenges, many graphics. Sometimes even a song. A great strand of their channel is the fight against Mr. San imaginary enemy. Among the most viewed videos: BABYSITTER FOR SOFÌ’S LITTLE COUSIN FOR 24 HOURS!! And EAT ONLY ONE COLOR OF FOOD FOR 24 HOURS!!!. Capitalization and exclamation points are faithfully reproduced.

While Fedez launches a new podcast Muschio Selvaggio dries up: the viewing data

The dissing against DinsiemE

On December 6th i Me Against You they launch theirs podcast channel on YouTube. The first episode is titled “I Me Against You by Wish!”. Simple set. Luigi and Sofia are sitting on the sofa, there are no guests, at least in the first episode. They talk freely about a topic: creators who copy their videos. Let’s summarize. During the episode, Me Contro Te talk, without mentioning them, about another couple of creators, DinsiemE, aka Erick Parisi And Dominick Alaimo.

The format of DinsiemE is the same as Me Contro Te. They are a couple of YouTubers who make videos for children, they also do challenges, they also make songs. They also did a series on the Frisbee TV channel. However, the numbers are lower. 2.1 million subscribers on YouTube. The turnover, at least according to what was declared in 2023 by the Chamber of Commerce Office, does not reach the levels of Me against You but still stands at 806,527 euros.

The position of de Me Contro Te sono easy to understand. In the podcast they accuse them of having copied formats and contents. In fact, there are many similarities, both in the contents offered and in the setting of the channel. Just like Me Contro Te, DinsiemE also fight against an imaginary enemy who doesn’t show his face. We leave you the video of the podcast below.

Responses on social media: “You are afraid of being surpassed”

One started from here video exchange on social media with bright tones, a first in the social history of creators who, for positioning reasons, have tried to maintain a fairly clean image. DinsiemE’s position was initially fairly neutral: “It’s not copying, if we make entertainment it’s normal for us to make videos, films and songs or things that they’ve already done.”

Me Contro Te respond with videos on TikTok. Badass music, expensive bags, poses with sunglasses. In short. From a Melevisione tone it seems like we’ve ended up in yet another feud between rappers. So much so that the text of the last video is: “Have you ever seen a Ferrari overtaken by a Twingo?”. It’s basically as if Fedez and Tony Effe they were lost in the Fantasy forest.

There is no shortage of reference to lawyers. I Me Against You: “We who reread the chats with the lawyer and the screen shots from 2017 on the YouTubers who “don’t know us” but came looking for us under our house”. I DinsiemE: “We who destroy all the senseless accusations that are sent to us by “those YouTubers” who cannot stand our successes after our lawyers tell us that they are unfounded and filled only with their fear of being surpassed”.

Maybe kids’ TV was better

Now. Imaginative if at some point Dodo had come out of the Blue Tree to accuse Topo Gigio of plagiarismperhaps showing a Jacuzzi installed inside his nest thanks to advertising money. OR Giovanni Mucciacia who shows off golden scissors with rounded tips on Instagram while attacking Tonio Cartonio for stealing his blueprints with PVA glue.

In 2018 Dario Moccia published a documentary on YouTube entitled Birth, Growth and Death of Children’s TV. It is an exceptional document, even if with little more than amateur means. With Paolo Bonolis, Fabrizio Frizzi and Giovanni Muciaccia we are told how children’s TV was born and how it ended on the main Italian television networks. Here, maybe while thousands of children are seeing their idols pose as gangsta rap on social media, it’s really sad that thatidea of children’s television has practically disappeared.
