Netflix increases the prices of all plans in the USA, for now no increase expected in Italy

In the United States the giant of streaming Netflix has again retouched upwards i prices of the subscriptions. It is the second time this has happened in just over a year. As reported on the “Plans and Pricing” page of the official website, they were involved all floors: standard subscription with advertising; standard subscription (without advertising); And Premium subscription. The entries relating to the addition of have also been revised users outside the family unit. In general, the increases of the various plans are of 1 or 2 dollars. Let’s look at them specifically.

Standard subscription with advertising, 1080p resolution and two supported devices simultaneously, goes from $7.99 to $8.99. The Standard subscription without advertising, which provides the same resolution and the same number of devices as the previous one, as well as the possibility of adding an additional user outside the family unit, increases by 2 dollars: from 17.99 dollars to $19.99. The Premium subscription, which provides 4K (Ultra HD) + HDR resolution, six devices supported simultaneously and the possibility of adding two extra members who do not live with the person subscribing to the plan, goes from 24.99 to $26.99 per month. Therefore the latter also underwent an increase of 2 dollars. Interestingly, the popular feature of being able to add extra members to your plan has received some tweaks, moving to $7.99 per month for the subscription with advertising ea $9.99 per month for those without advertising.

Currently, no price increases have been announced for Italy, where the prices of the plans are significantly higher stable than in the United States, where several adjustments have occurred in recent years (compared to 2011 there has been practically a doubling in the cost of Standard in the USA). The last adjustment in our country occurred in October 2024, when the standard plan with advertising – the so-called Basic – had moved on to 6.99 Eurosthe Standard without advertising 13.99 Euros and the Premium a 19.99 Euros. These are the prices still in effect today.

Interestingly, the new tweaks in the US occurred a few weeks after the withdraw from the proposed purchase of Warner Bros. Discoveryafter the last relaunch Paramount Skydance which had made the acquisition unsustainable for the streaming giant. It is precisely in light of this news that many fear that the increase in subscriptions experienced in the USA could also reach other countries, including Italy. Netflix has a huge user base, with over 325 million subscribers all over the world. As reported by Reuters, thanks to the new prices for US citizens “the company’s average revenue per subscriber in the US-Canada region will increase by 6 percent on an annual basis in 2026, according to estimates by analysts at TD Cowen.”
