The team then modified the chips and recovered most of the functionality. Arbaugh was the first but not the only one. In fact, the chip was also successfully implanted in a second patient in August.

The goal of Neuralink is in fact “to create a neuronal interface for the restoration of autonomy of those who have today unmet medical needs”. Not only that. This is just the first step. In fact, Elon Musk’s great dream is to develop a device capable of “unlocking human potential”, physical and mental abilities until reaching “symbiosis with artificial intelligence”.
