WhatsApp has announced that the voice message transcribing feature is officially arriving. The new option will be available on both Android and WhatsApp. The timing is not yet known: the platform has only said that the update will be released in the “coming weeks”.
In the last few hours the news has been spread that on WhatsApp it will finally be possible automatically transcribe voice messages. This time it’s not a rumor or an indiscretion but… an announcement distributed directly from the platform, as reported by the technology magazine The Verge. In short in the next few weeks both iOS users and Android users will be able to turn audio clips into lyrics: in this way they will know the contents of the vocals even when they are not in a position to listen to them.
According to what WhatsApp explained, the function should be very simple to use. A text will be generated from the screens that have been shared once the reference option on the voice message has been selected directly below the vowel. To maintain confidentiality the voice will be processed directly on the device: it will not be processed by the servers Halfthe company led by Mark Zuckerberg owner of the messaging platform.
How to activate the function to transcribe messages
According to the WhatsApp blog, once this feature is implemented in new versions of the platform you just need to activate it. The indicated path is very simple:

For Android we will have to wait a little longer, while iOS users will already be able to use it immediately, provided they have a updated operating system. The transcription of the messages in Italian will be available on all iOS 16 and above operating systems.
