Tesla’s Cybertruck was the protagonist of an attack against its will. On January 1, a man, identified as Matthew Alan Livelsberger, filled it with fireworks and fuel cans to place it in front of Trump Tower in Las Vegas and detonate it. The terrorist attack left no victims, only seven injured, but allowed us to understand some more information on the structure of this vehicle.

A man, now identified as Matthew Alan Livelsberger, drove the vehicle to the hotel chain managed by the president-elect Donald Trump.
According to police analysis, Livelsberger triggered the attack here detonation of a homemade bomb consisting of fireworks, petrol canisters and camping fuel. Before the attack he killed himself with a gun, as reported by CNN.
The motive of the attack, the objective and the history of Livelsberger have yet to be sifted by the authorities. The accident caused no casualties. Not only that. The explosion occurred in front of the hotel door, without breaking even a single glass.

On January 2, Elon Musk commented on the attack on X (fu Twitter): “These evil idiots chose the wrong vehicle for a terrorist attack. The Cybertruck contained the explosion, redirecting the shock wave upwards. Not even a single pane of glass in the hotel entrance was broken.” The images of Cybertruck carcass they seem to agree with Elon Musk. The structure of the vehicle seems overall intact, apart from the plastic components the body has not kept its shape. There Cybertruck bodywork is based on a folded plate of stainless steel.
Elon Musk has always focused heavily on the resistance of this medium in the marketing campaign which accompanied its launch, so much so that it was defined as the “means of the apocalypse”.
