A few days ago Apple passed one market capitalization of $4 trillion. Currently second Companies Market Cup is a 4,012. A record, of course. A number that even just a year ago would have been exceptional. In October 2024 it was valid 3,500 billion dollars. In October 2023 it was at 2,700 billion dollars. However, Apple’s record went almost unnoticed, given that it was surpassed by another Big Tech: Nvidia.

The company specializing in the production of cards began to run on the stock market with the arrival of artificial intelligence on the mass market. Not that things were bad before. In 2020 it had reached the peak of 800 billion dollars in value.

But fromautumn of 2022 the stock soared, reaching a market capitalization that is now calculated on 5 trillion dollars. 5,062 billion to be precise. A threshold never reached in recent economic history. Market capitalization is a value closely linked to Bag: in fact, this formula means the sum of the value of all the shares of a company present on the market.

How Nvidia’s success was born

Founded in 1993 by three partners in California, Nvidia has specialized in the development of graphic processes. Poorly explained, let’s talk about those components dedicated to transforming the impulses processed by the PC into pixels on the screen. At the moment its CEO is Jensen Huangborn in 1963. Many users will have seen its logo in the stickers stuck on PCs. Usually also annoying accessory for laptops. Years after its foundation, the technology around graphics cards has proven to be fundamental for two things: first for cryptocurrencies and then for it development of artificial intelligence. Nvidia’s path towards 5,000 billion dollars in capitalization was also marked by fundamental agreements. Last but not least, the gigantic Stargate project, a hub dedicated to the development of artificial intelligence and funded directly by the United States government.
