Problems with Trenitalia, both the app and the site don’t work. Today the Trenitalia portals continue to prevent access. The site seems to work but when you search for trains or try to access a service it immediately crashes.
From 3.00 pm today, Tuesday 17 December, the Trenitalia app and website are continuing to cause problems. The down involves various services, starting with the search for trains. If you try to search for any route on the Trenitalia website for a few moments the site will appear being loaded. The classic animation with the three dots, however, leads nowhere: at best an error message or an unlikely “We haven’t found any hypotheses” will come out.
The reports can also be seen on Downdetectorthe portal where malfunction reports are collected. On X, some users report that the problem also extends to automatic ticket machines. Of course, a downturn these days is obviously a problem given that many people are organizing to move along the peninsula for the upcoming holidays.

The tone of the reports that can be read on social media is always the same. A user writes on X: “App out of order, automatic ticket machines out of orderTrenitalia employees disconsolate because they too have no information. I believe that a worse Minister than Salvini does not exist.” There are users who explain that they have also had problems with electronic payments. We read: “Blocking of #Trenitalia’s payment systems, the app, the website nor the automatic ticket machines. The ticket can be purchased at the ticket office e cash only“.

Trenitalia’s note: “Tickets on board without surcharge”
Trenitalia issued a note in the late afternoon. He confirms the problem with his systems and explains that he is working to resolve it. We report it in full:
“Trenitalia’s booking and sales systems are not currently functioning due to a technical malfunction currently underway. Technicians are working to restore service as soon as possible.
Trenitalia has strengthened information for passengers at the station and on board the train and authorized the sale of tickets on board the train without a surcharge”.
