At 10:30 the hacker collective NoName 057 published on its Telegram channel a list of sites obscured by an attack, probably of the DDoS type. Among these portals there are many domains of the Intesa Sanpaolo bank. At the moment it is possible to access the main portal of the bank but entry to the Customer Area is slowed down. No problems, however, from the app.
The last attack was on December 28th. Starting from 8:20 in the morning a group of hackers close to Russia known as NoName 057 had attacked the portals of some Italian airports. No damage to transport: the attacked sites had been down for several hours. Now a new attack, always from NoName 057always on Italian sites. This time, however, the target is a bank.
According to their Telegram group at 10.30am an attack began against various portals linked to the Intensa Sanpaolo bank. Let’s talk about minor domains, like proprieta.impresasanpaolo.com. Some are still unreachable, while the bank’s main website is clear, albeit with some problems for the Customer Area.
The site can be accessed easily but once you have entered the entrance to the Customer Area seems slow. No problem, however, when you enter theapp. Once you have entered the PIN you can easily access the home banking service. In addition to Intensa Sanpaolo, the NoName 057 hackers also claimed responsibility for attacks on the website Novara water service and to that of port of Trieste.
How the NoName 057 hacker attack works
In all likelihood, the hacker attack claimed on the Telegram group of the NoName 05 7 collective is of type DDoSexactly like the others launched by the group and seen in recent years. In short, the number of accesses to a site is multiplied artificially, so as to overload the server and prevent real users from seeing it.
They are attacks that last a few hours and they do not cause other types of damage. They don’t break code, steal data, or create permanent damage. As we have already said several times, it is an action of digital vandalismthe equivalent of throwing paint at the bank door.
For some time it seems that the objective of these attacks is halfway between a political act and evidence of narcissism.
