What happened to $CORONA, Fabrizio Corona's crypto that ultimately cost him 200,000 euros

The history of crypto by Fabrizio Corona it came to an end. After blocking GetCoronaMemeswhere the crypto was sold, Consob intervened with one administrative fine of 200,000 euros. Fabrizio Corona himself will have to pay for it, barring new chapters in this judicial history. The reason? The memecoin $CORONA would not have respected the protocols defined by the European Union. Much of the necessary documentation was missing at the launch of $CORONA. The complaints range from legal person to which the activity was to be connected until White Papersthe document with all the technical indications to support the project.

However, the project had already been on hold for some time. Launched in February 2025, there was a fair amount of interest in the early days, especially from Crypto newbies and by speculators. Shortly thereafter, the value of the cryptocurrency collapsed. Showing how Corona’s was the usual memecoin operation. A token is launched, not even a crypto, tied to a famous person. Whoever gets in first speculate and earnwho comes in after that loses. The organizers promise that the coin will break through the market and instead it promptly turns out to be a hole in the water. We had already documented this whole story on Fanpage.

How much is the $CORONA memecoin worth today

The $CORONA memecoin is still missing on some platforms. Second GeckoTerminal currently the price for one unit of $CORONA is set at $0.00001267. Virtually nothing. Just for comparison, at the moment Dogecoin (perhaps the most famous memecoin in the world) is set at $0.12.

What Consob decided

Consob’s reasons are all found in resolution 23.815. You can find it directly on the site. Consob is the Italian authority for the supervision of financial markets and also deals with activities related to cryptocurrencies. In addition to the administrative fine of 200,000 euros (to be paid within 30 days), Consob has also defined a “injunction to refrain from repeating the violation”.

Not only that. The document also specifies that Corona he did not want to cooperate with the investigations: “Mr. Corona did not adopt a collaborative attitude, having on the contrary remained inert both following the receipt of the warning and during the course of this proceeding, not exercising any defensive activity.”
