Starting from 8.45am today, Monday December 15ththe Intesa Sanpaolo app has started to cause problems. Hundreds of users from all over Italy have reported that i bank online services they had stopped working. After about an hour the problems seem to have disappeared, the app started to work normally again.

According to i data published on Downdetector, The 68% of users had reported mobile access issues. The 27% of users, however, were unable to access the online bank. Many were stuck at the authentication phase, some, once they entered thehome banking, they found themselves faced with the message: “Balance currently not available”.

What are the error messages

Scrolling through social media we see that there were also other error messages. One of these explains that the section home page is not available. We read: “The homepage section is temporarily unavailable. We invite you to try again later. If you wish, you can still access all the other features of the app via Menu”.

Intesa Sanpaolo’s response

Intesa Sanpaolo specified to Fanpage.it that it was not a generalized downtime of the app but only a disservices sporadic: “There was no downtime in the app, but rather, from approximately 8.40am to 9.35am, there were sporadic and limited slowdowns in access to the app of around ten seconds and occasional evidence of errors in the display of movements. Operational operations, such as the execution of bank transfers, were always permitted and functioning. During the indicated time, the number of accesses to the app was in line with the usual daily operation, if not slightly higher”.
