WhatsApp has revealed Message Summares, a new function based on the artificial intelligence of Meta. With Message Summaries it is possible to ask the app to summarize all the messages that we have not read within a conversation.
The new WhatsApp function is called Message Summaries. Has just been launched by the official blog and could become one of the more used functions of Meta Aiartificial intelligence appeared in early April on the app. The idea is actually inviting. When in a group there are messages not read destination to them takes them, analyzes them and then there summarizes in a pointed list.
It is not a beta. The new function has been announced in WhatsApp’s blog: “You can immediately get an idea of what happened before seeing the details among the unread messages”. Message Summaries then entered the Roll Out phase: It will be distributed to users with new app updates, both for Android and iPhone. The latest updates were dedicated to WhatsApp Web and vocal chats in groups.
The only thing that is currently not clear and if this function will also be active immediately in the European Union. The message published on the official Italian blog of the platform is in English, unlike the messages that have announced the arrival of new functions in the past. In the EU the rules to be followed for artificial intelligence applications are closer.
Whatsapp will stop working on these smartphones from 1 July 2025: the complete list
How Message Summaries works
Second half the messages will be analyzed with technology Private processing. In short, the messages and conversations analyzed will not be seen in clear by Meta but will be analyzed so as not to leak information. Not only that. The summary with the Summary of unread messages will be visible to other people in the group. Here you will find the technical report of Meta on how this technology operates.
Certain. The option seems interesting but looking at the examples that have been published so far there could be flaws in the system. In the test published on the blog you can see the summary of a conversation within a group of students. It makes sense: within the group users were organizing themselves for the day.
In many other cases, we know, the groups created with friends become a meme flowupdates on the progress of the days or comments on current affairs. A skein that is perhaps a little difficult to order in a list, especially with artificial intelligence.
