Instagram is introducing a new feature that gives users more control over the content they see on their profile. Starting today it will be possible add the posts in which you have been tagged directly to the main grid of your accountwithout having to publish the same content again.
The novelty does not represent a radical change, but it could be useful in many everyday situations. It may happen, for example, that you return from a party, a concert, a holiday or an evening with friends and discover that someone has already published one of the best group photos, also inserting your own tag.
Until now, those who wanted to show that same image in their own grid could only republish it personally, a solution that could not be natural. Instagram now offers an alternative, allowing you to add a post to your profile already published by another user e in which you were tagged.
The new management of your Instagram profile grid
The operation can be carried out in different ways. Users can add the post to their grid directly from the notification received in direct messages when they are tagged, from the original post or through the tab dedicated to the content in which they were tagged. If you change your mind, the content can be easily removed from your profile.
The original post is not edited in any way. Adding to your own grid does not delete or duplicate the content the other user initially posted. Additionally, you can remove the post from your profile grid at any time without deleting it from the Tagged sectionwhere it will continue to be available.
According to Instagram, the feature could also be useful in collaborations between creators. Creators will in fact be able to show the contents in which they have been tagged on their profile without having to publish them again or resort to the option “Invite collaborators“. The novelty could also be useful in brand campaigns that involve multiple creators.
